It’s hard to believe, but this was my first Comic-Con. It’s definitely an event to see, but it’s also a bit overwhelming. I ended up having most of my fun taking pictures of people in costumes (which I’ll upload in future posts).
A few personal highlights:
- Crashing the Jennifer’s Body party with Megan Fox. I got to shake Stan Lee’s hand — he was getting more attention than Megan Fox.
- Crashing the Lionsgate party and sitting opposite Tim Burton. (Personally, I hate Tim Burton’s movies. He’s one of the few directors I pay attention to — so I can know which movies to stay away from.) The highlight here was watching one person in my posse miss her shot at talking to him, and finding out that another person in my posse is the daughter of a famous actor.
- Getting dragged away from my agency’s party way too quickly, but not before getting a job prospect out of it.
- Walking by the booth labelled “Adam West Enterprises”
- Perfume from Genki Wear: Your choice of Red Shirt (”Because Tomorrow May Never Come.”), Tiberius (”Boldly Go.”), Pon Farr (”Drive Him Crazy.”), and KHAAANN! (”Engineered to be Superior.”).
- San Diego has some cool-looking hotel architecture.
And a few low-lights:
- It’s impossible to get into most panels unless you are willing to wait in line for a really really long time (which I’m not willing to do).
- It’s difficult to walk parts of the main floor because of the mass of people. An interesting and telling note: The comics side is generally a lot less cramped than the Hollywood side.
- Parking.
